KCSS sends the Class of 2011 forth to face the world

The end of another school year is a big event in any teenager’s life, but it’s particularly important for those who are starting a new phase of their schooling.

King City Secondary School held its 50th Commencement Ceremony last Tuesday (June 28) at the Magna Centre in Newmarket.

Some of the Grade 12 grads are now looking to the advent of university or college in the fall, while others are entering the field of work.

Valedictorian Katelyn MacIachlan focused on the graduates’ accomplishments in her remarks.

“Look how far we have come,” she declared. “These will all become memories and they will help you grow and succeed in life.”

Maclachlan will be going to Queen’s University in September to study concurrent education, with the aim of becoming a teacher.
