The Nine Lives of Chloe King: Now With More Sparkles!
EPISODE 2Last week things ended with Chloe finding an email from her dad. She then spent all that time between episodes agonizing over whether she should respond. FINALLY she does and as soon as she hits send something thumps about on her roof.
Cue rooftop chase sequences which works because San Francisco is full of good roofs for chasing!
Alec was the one chasing her and he immediately clutches her to his chest and looks all dreamily at her. She responds in kind. MAKE OUT.
They don’t. Phooey.
The next morning she uses her epic drag queen nails to ruins apples and coffee and newspapers. Way to go Ru Paul.
Then she rushes off to the tower to stare at her bloody stain on the ground with her friends and be sad about her superpowers. CHLOE THEY ARE SUPER POWERS. DON’T BE SAD. I AGREE WITH PAUL. Also Amy continues her goal of becoming Willow by wearing a bad hat.
Amy you are the best, but I always felt Willow’s hats were bad and that hasn’t changed. So no more hats! Also Chloe take dead boy’s photo off your phone. That’s a little morbid. Unless this is all a ploy to get us to be sad about him because he’s coming back to life as a mummy? Man I hope he comes back as a mummy.
In the streets Ugly Fairy was following her and at school Alec is following her so Amy STEPS UP. And they have mad chemistry and Amy continues to be my favorite. I’m starting an Amy fanclub here and now. Who is with me? Amy for President of Awesomeness 2012.
Man, but wait. Is Amy going to leave Paul for Alec? Nooooo, that makes me conflicted!
At that shop Chloe hangs out in we finally learn the answer to the most important question on the show. Chloe DOES work at the shop. She doesn’t just hang out there! And it’s a vintage clothes shop! This show’s already answered more questions than Lost ! Cute Cat Hat shows up and flirts like mad. Chloe is not immune. She falls under his flirting spell. Even her boss is okay with it because Cat Hat is adorable.
AAAA MUMMY DEAD CUTE GUY IS CALLING HER. HE IS A MUMMY I KNEW IT.
Amy’s suspicion makes more sense. She thinks it’s Ugly Fairy. She promptly calls the number back and tells the people on the line they’re creepy and hangs up. Also Chloe agrees with me Amy! He is alive or a mummy! We will ignore your newspaper full of facts thankyouverymuch.
That night she settles down for some pizza with mom but mom’s pizza is greener then a salad and apparently awful tasting. Somehow this segues into her telling her mom about dead cute guy. And this is where Chloe gets real and tells her mom all about it and her mom puts on good mom hat and comforts her (also she makes sure Chloe didn’t sleep with the dude). They agree to go to the service together. I love that this show lets her go to the funeral with her mom instead of her friends. Most shows would have sent the friends instead.

Back at the vintage shop Amy compares her to a cat. Because Amy is the best. Also, I think Amy is right. Chloe may be like that cat in the old folk's home who predicts death. Oh and Amy has two gay dads. Diversity! Alec was being creepy and listening

Here’s a bit about Oscar from Wikipedia ..
“Oscar was adopted as a kitten from an animal shelter and grew up in the third-floor end-stage dementia unit at Steere House Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Providence, Rhode Island. The 41-bed unit treats people with Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s disease and other illnesses, most of whom are in the end stage of life and are generally unaware of their surroundings. After about six months, the staff noticed that Oscar, just like the doctors and nurses, would make his own rounds. Oscar would sniff and observe patients, then curl up to sleep with certain ones. The patients he would sleep with often died within several hours of his arrival. One of the first cases involved a patient who had a blood clot in her leg that was ice cold at the time. Oscar wrapped his body around her leg and stayed until the woman died”
Oscar’s track record still holds til today, it’s now 5 years old. The story in the movie will focus on the discovery of Oscar’s ability and the impact it has on Dosa’s belief system and the care given to people at the end of their lives.
So what do you think? Sounds more like a Hallmark/lifetime channel movie to me. Unless they want Oscar to be all CG and can talk like humans. They should should turn this into supernatural horror, Oscar doesn’t predict impending death.. it actually causes death to arrive before it’s even the patient’s time to go..now that would be more exciting.
